Change in Education

I just heard California law maker is proposing a big change to California education system that children must be five years old by September 1st in order to start Kindergarten. The current law is children can start Kindergarten as long as they were born before December 2nd. What do you think about this new proposal?

  1. I think it is a terrible idea that children cannot start school sooner. I think all the rich people that control California's education system need a 50% salary cut. That will teach them how regular people feel about this crisis they created.

  2. Wow... i did not know that. I also just heard about the new changes in school grade separation; Elementary will go up to 6th, middle school to 9th, and high school will be 10th thru 12th. This is very interesting to me.

  3. I don't think it's a blessing to have a kid start school when they're still less than five years old. To make them sit still all day...

Most kids just aren't ready for the form, rules, and work of a full school day--even at five and a half. California has the cutoff date at December 2nd so the schools can get extra money for more kids in the desks. Are those bigger numbers and younger youngsters better for educating?

  4. I agree with Hello Hello. Most kids less than five are not for school. I feel it is the responsibility of the parents to start educating their children. It should not be all left to the school system.
